Quilted Catch-All Bin Cut Layout (with or without bias tape)
Cotton, 2yds
1/4″ Craft Foam, 1 1/2yds
1/2″ Bias Tape Maker, or 1/2″ Bias Tape, 5yds

DIRECTIONS:

You will be able to make 6 bins if cutting bias tape from your 2yds of cotton, or 8 bins if not cutting bias tape from your 2yds of cotton.
Following the cut layout, cut out 4 1/2″x 25″ rectangles (either twelve or sixteen), 8 1/4″ circles (either twelve or sixteen) and (optional) six 2″x 30″ rectangles cut at 45 degrees.
From your foam, cut either six or eight circles and six or eight 4 1/2″x 25″ rectangles.
Match a cotton to a foam rectangle piece and baste around the edges, leaving six or eight unbasted cotton rectangles.

Clip the long edge of the foam rectangle around the edge of the circle, beginning two inches from the end of the rectangle and stopping two inches before the end of the circle. The cotton should be on the outside of the bin bottom and the bin side.
Hold the unsewn ends of the bin’s side together to complete the circle and mark with your disappearing ink pen. With right sides together, sew down the place where marked, then trim off the excess material. Use sewing clips to attach to the bottom and finish sewing bin side to bottom.
Following the same steps, create the bin lining by attaching another cotton rectangle to a circle, without the foam.
Place the lining inside of the foam bin. Safety pin the bottom to secure, and baste around the top edge.
With your disappearing ink pen and a ruler, draw vertical lines every 1″ around the bin. Sew over those lines, all the way around.
Secure the bias tape to the top edge with sewing clips. Begin sewing two inches from the start of the tape and stop two inches from the end. Hold the end of the bias tape together and mark the place where they meet along the top edge of the bin. Face the two ends right sides together and sew at your mark. Flip it around to double-check that it is correct, and when it is trim off the excess material.
Finish sewing the bias tape to the top edge of the bin.
